There are so many things that I have learned during my 5 years in blogging. Creating your own blog is definitely one of the easiest aspects since there are plenty of tools that you can use to get your blog up and running.
However, it is in creating your articles and also promoting it to different channels is where I struggle the most. Fortunately for you, I will impart my advice to would-be bloggers who want to be successful. Read on to find out some important things that you need to think about when blogging.
First off is creating your own blog. I’ve said earlier that this is actually the easiest part of the process and that is thanks to different website builders, as well as content management systems.
I first started using WordPress on my very first blog. WordPress provided me with an avenue to get things started as I didn’t have a lot of money to spend on my own domain yet. Still, it was a pleasurable experience since WordPress is one of the most robust CMS out there that provides you with different functionalities when you need it.
You can also try Squarespace or Wix as they, too, provide you with excellent tools to help you craft the best blog for you.
When you are writing your blog posts, it is imperative that you exude your personality and sprinkle it into your writing. That is why you have to define your blogging style first and then make sure that you become consistent on your other articles as well.
You can try to be informational by giving people some awareness about certain topics in your niche. You can aim to be entertaining by giving your audience a chance to laugh and relax, especially when they’ve had a busy day.
You can try to give important and actionable information to your readers by putting up different guides and making them easier to digest for the layman.
Whatever style of blogging that you want to use, just remain consistent all throughout.
There has been a longstanding debate as to what type of content you need to post on your blog. Is it better to post articles or does it provide you better results if you upload video content instead?
For me, I would always go for blog posts with additional video or images. People are accustomed to reading articles for quite a while now and it still remains to be the best form of conveying your message across.
That being said, video content can also be a good medium as well, but it is harder to create and more expensive at that. You can experiment with what type of content you wish to upload.
Podcasting has also been increasing in traction as well. That is because people prefer to listen to audio tracks as opposed to reading the articles themselves. Again, experiment what works for you best.
